SEO Strategies - How To Achieve Higher Search Engine Positioning

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

The main objective of any online business Web site is to promote a product or service. The purpose of an e-commerce Web site, is to allow your site’s visitors to buy your products or services directly from your Web site.

With the stiff competition among hundreds, or even thousands of online businesses these days, a Web site that can easily be located, and offers user-friendly interfaces and layouts, will definitely be more competitive than those who cannot easily be seen, or would not look attractive and enticing enough to Web customers.

Fully optimized Web sites allow the generation of more visitors and revenues, and does not require you visitors to call you during business hours, and will only rely on the impulse of the buyer or viewer. buyer. However, the major drawback among online business Web sites is that a very few of them can be properly indexed by search engine spiders, and generally will fail to rank properly.

Stuffing Keywords Won’t Do The Trick

A search engine spider places valued importance on what it reads highest on the page, therefore your site need to have appropriate keywords that include your targeted phrases. The practice f stuffing in keywords in the hopes that it will add weight to your page generally won’t work.

The phase “keyword density” refers to the amount of content that is made up of your targeted keywords, and according to search engine optimization (SEO) exerts, the estimates for the right percentage of keywords may range anywhere from 4 or 5%, to 10 to 12%. Basically, when it comes to keyword density, experts note that you should put your keywords in the content as much as you can, while keeping it perfectly readable and not confusing to your readers.

What Internal Linking Means For You Site

In order to make sure that your Web site gets properly indexed, you need to ensure that the search engine spiders have an easy path through your site. Using text links would make for reasonable options, as the anchor text, or the actual words that area used to link to a specific page, )make things relevant to that page for the words used to link to it.

According to SEO veterans, there are two ways in ensuring that your Web site gets well crawled by the search engine spiders, and that the relevancy is added, is to first is to install text links on the bottom of your homepage, to your main internal pages. The second method, is to create a sitemap to all your internal pages and link to it from your homepage. These two methods both offer many advantages and some disadvantages as well.

Appropriate Link Building Techniques

It’s a fact that almost all of the major search engines give good credit to Web sites that have good-quality links pointing back to them. Just how many links would be enough actually depends on your industry and targeted phrases. The first place to find good is to go to general and topic-specific directories.

After this, you may also wish to move into reciprocal link building, and this refers to the exchange of links between two related Web sites. There are some Webmasters who simply link to any website that links back to them. You need to find Web sites that you think your site’s visitors will find interesting, and you’ve probably found a good link partner, as you will prefer to get links from Web sites that are related to yours.

Search Engine Optimisation: Why Not a Flash Website?

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

Yeah why not! They look good and can be very creative with a lot of visual effects. But the truth is they are not very search engine friendly. For those who have just spent a lot of bucks on creating a flash masterpiece, no need to panic, there are a few ways to help improve your website’s search engine visibility.

To give you a quick rundown as to why flash websites are not favoured by search engines, they are seen as a one page image file with no text based content. You will notice that when you navigate through a flash website, the URL address will always remain the same. So here you have a website with no text based content, is a one page image file and has no internal link structure, translating into a search engine’s enemy.

Unless you have an extremely popular name within your industry or have an enormous amount of relevant incoming links, then you will get away with having a flash website for the obvious keyword phrases i.e. company name. Who would fall into this category? An example would be Coca Cola, ever heard of them? So for those who fall into the other category, and that would be about 90% of us, fortunately there are alternatives to help boost your rankings.

There are three suitable methods that I would recommend. The first method is by far the easiest and cost efficient. It involves optimising your Title and Meta tags for the single page to the best of your ability and then including optimised text information beneath the flash image. Some may see this as a form of spam, but given the scenario, I would recommend this method provided that the text is written accordingly and avoids keyword stuffing.

The second method can be quite costly and might not be favoured given the fact that you have spent a lot of cash on your flash website. It involves developing a second site designed in HTML. When a visitor visits your site, they would be presented with two links, one to your flash site and one to your HTML site. That way search engine crawlers will access all the content and pages via the HTML website.

The third method is by far the most preferred. It works by developing an HTML website with your flash images embedded on the page, and all content is written in text based form. This allows you to have multiple HTML pages which will give you more Title and Meta tags to work with, as well as keyword rich content to write for each page.

To sum up, depending on your time and budget constraints, there are ways to help you avoid the search engine pitfalls of having a flash website. Any of the methods I have discussed, along with a strong incoming link structure, will help you get that extra exposure in the search engines. If are thinking of designing a flash website, make sure you look at implementing a search engine friendly strategy to avoid complications in the future.

Search Engine Optimisation Services Specialist Discusses Press Releases In SEO Part 20

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

It is all about the information you have and how you tell people about that information regarding your business. People are tired of being advertised to and reading and hearing the same rubbish day in and day out. One of the best ways to market your business is to provide real benefits and real solutions to people’s business difficulties and problems. This way the person will most probably take a look at your information. This is exactly where press releases fit it as part of a search engine optimisation campaign.

They are made to announce your business and to give benefits and solutions to help people in their opportunity as a result of them joining or signing up into your business. Before you start writing your press release, as mentioned before, you need to research the keywords and keyword phrases that you choose and use in your press release. This is worth repeating as it is critically important as the first step in the search engine optimization campaign when creating a press release and in fact for creating any content submission on the internet, including your business website.

You don’t just go in like a ‘bull at a gate’ and write something without planning the keywords and keyword phrases. You need to be very focussed with what you write. Whatever you do and how you do it on the internet will go out live on the internet, permanently. Every single thing that you do on the internet counts. Counting in the sense that you are building links that point back to your business website that you are promoting.

This is the process of search engine optimization and search engine marketing because you build links by writing articles, press releases, forum posts and blog posts, each of which creates a unique link. Then you hand submit each of those links to the Google search engine. The link building process is at the core of search engine optimization. The better that you write these articles or various types of content submissions, the more keyword specific you are in them, the more title focussed you are, the better results you will have with regard to top search engine ranking.

Back Links - What Are They, Why Do I Need Them and How to Get Them?

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

Search engines use a number of criteria for ranking websites. No one can say exactly how the search engines weigh their criteria, since the search engines protect this information as a trade secret. But SEO experts are able to give us a reliable picture of what we need to do to get the highest visibility in Internet search engines.

The three keys to search engine ranking are content, keywords, and back links. Ultimately, a high ranking in search engines is the result of high traffic. How do you drive more traffic to your small business website? Content, keywords, and back links.

The content of your website must be chosen carefully and with plenty of research. A lot of websites look pretty with flash designs, detailed artwork and pictures. If you have a small business, then concentrate on that with your website. You are not trying to impress prospective clients with all of your fancy technology on your website. Use your website to find leads, entice customers, and make long lasting relationships.

Content, meaning the text and descriptions of your business and your services, should be chosen carefully. You can choose the right content by doing keyword research and using many keywords in your web pages filled with facts, portfolios of your work, and newsworthy information.

Don’t try to trick them! A small business website with 50 pages of hot air won’t fool the Internet community. Keyword-stuffing will only work temporarily. When visitors find nothing but fluff on a website, they won’t go back and they won’t create word of mouth in their own blogs and websites. When your traffic drops, the search engines find out in a hurry and the bottom falls out of your ranking.

What are backlinks? Back links are backward links. Basically they are links that point back to your website, blog, etc. They are somewhat like trail markers that you can leave, pointing passersby to take the path toward your homebase.

How are they created? Back links are created whenever someone has a link for your website on their website. The easiest way to make back links is by submitting your web content to article directories, websites, and blogs.

For instance, if you post an article on About.com, the smart thing to do is fill the article with links back to your website. Sometimes websites have restrictions on how many links you can have in your article, so a link to your website in your bio or signature is good as well. The search engines find this “back link” to your site on another web site, which tells them that your article is popular.

Successful backlinking is like a word of mouth popularity game. Whomever has the most links pointing to their site helps determine who gets the best ranking on the Search Engines. Also, a back link is better than a reciprocal link because if someone links to you, but you don’t link back to them, it’s like you’re cooler than they are. Reciprocal linking is still a valuable tool to be utilized smartly, but back linking will bring you the most juice. The more back links you have, the more popular you are with search engines, and the higher you rank. Literally.

Article submission is widely recognized as one of the most effective strategies for optimizing search engine ranking. Creating plenty of back links with quality content is the single best strategy for driving traffic to your Small Business website and boosting your search engine ranking. In order to get more people to hit those links is to write articles and post newsworthy, keyword rich postings. Research which keywords people might search for to find your business, and use them in your articles. This will ensure that people who could be interested in your business’ services will find you.

Always remember the first principle of search engine optimization: Rich content is the single most important determinant of search engine ranking. Write high-quality web content and blog posts, submit your content to article directories, and the search engine rankings will come.

Search Engine Classification

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

Today I will be discussing the various types of search engines that exist today on the Internet.

In order not to overwhelm the reader I will divide this article into four parts.

Four major search engine types

1) crawler based search engines.

2) hybrid engines (META engines and engines using other engines results).

3) directories (edited and maintained by humans).

4) paid inclusion engines and pay-per-performance.

1.Crawler Based Engines

Crawler based search engines use special software, known as crawler, bot, spider, or robot, to automatically and regularly visit websites to create and supplement their gigantic web page databases.

When a crawler visits your website, your web server will return the HTML source code of your page to the spider and after it reads your pages, it will compress the data and store it in the gigantic database called the search engine index.

The index, sometimes called the catalog, is like a giant book containing a copy of every web page that the spider finds. If a web page changes, then this book is updated with the new information.

The process of compressing and storing web pages is also known as indexing.

After your page has been indexed, it will appear on search engine results pages for the words and phrases most common on the indexed web page.

The reading of your web pages by the crawler is also known as crawling or spidering.

Crawlers ignore graphics and flash animations but read the META tags and give more value to text that is closest to the beginning and end of a web page, text wrapped in links, headers, image ALT descriptions, and so forth. These graphics are additional ‘obstacles’ on it’s way to your content and the crawler may rank your page low, no one will find it on the search engine and no one will be able to appreciate the design of your website.

Later, when someone searches the engine for particular terms, your page will be pulled out of the index and included in the search results.

The search engine software applies a sophisticated technique(algorithm) to sift through millions of pages recorded in the index to find matches to a search and rank them in order of what it believes is most relevant.

Many factors are taken into consideration and the page is given a position and rank, within other results found for the surfer’s query. This process is called ranking.

Basically the crawler based search engine has three parts:

1) the crawler

2) the index

3) search engine software

Sometimes it can take a while for new pages or changes that the spider finds to be added to the index. Thus, a web page may have been spidered but not yet indexed. Until it is indexed it is not available.

SEO (search engine optimization) is the solution for making your page more search-engine friendly. The optimization is mostly oriented towards crawler-based engines, which are the most-popular and common on the Internet. The best is of course to keep both human and crawler visitors happy and combine graphics and search engine optimization.

Google is a typical crawler based search engine.

In my opinion it is better to have quality content then quality graphics.

What would you prefer?: A fast loading, ugly looking, website with quality content text or a slow loading website, filled with nice graphics and pictures that no one is able to find?

Introduction to SEO - Search Engine Optimization

Posted by: adswithinreach  :  Category: Uncategorized

Search Engine Optimization, commonly referred to as SEO, is the process of optimizing, or configuring a website or webpage for natural search engine indexing and ranking. In other words optimized the webpage or website is, the easier it is for search engines to find it.

Search engines use algorithms (code) to match the word or key phrases, often referred to as “keywords” or “keyphrases”, that a user types into the search field with the webpages, files and websites that it has stored knowledge of. These algorithms look for specific data and attempt to return the best match for what it thinks the user is searching for. Given a search engine such as Google, this process happens millions of times a day in seconds.

Some of the specific data the search engines are looking for falls into two primary parts. These parts are known as “on page” seo and “off page” seo.

On page seo is basically configurations that are made on the webpage or website itself. On page seo generally deals with such areas as optimizing the title tag, the anchor tags text, the meta keyword tag, the meta description tag, and the contents in such a way that the search engine can read the source code and content of the webpage or website, and know whether or not it is relevant to what the user is searching for.

Off page seo is basically seo actions that are performed outside the realm of the webpage or website itself. Off page seo is the task of obtaining inbound links from other websites or webpages that are themselves optimized and well ranked for the same keywords or keyphrases. When the search engines detect that there are inbound links to your webpage that have similar topics to your website or webpages theme, they will use this data during the analysis to help determine relevancy to the users search.

Note that there are other things that can be done to optimize a website or webpage that are not mentioned here that are beyond the scope of this introduction. Also, note that the list is every changing in terms of what it includes and level of importance.

Finally, the ultimate goal of the search engines is to provide relevant results to the users original query. Applying the factors listed here while writing naturally flowing but relevant content for websites or webpages is SEO - Serach Engine Optimization.
